PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that there is a queue of politicians awaiting approval for a place in the party.
“When I said I wanted to be a cricketer, no one believed in me. When I wanted to be a fast bowler, people said I would fail. When I formed PTI, they said it won’t succeed, but now there is a queue of politicians waiting to join PTI,” Imran said while speaking to a ceremony in Peshawar.
Khan continued that he became a successful cricketer because he dreamed big and that he worked to achieve his goals despite hurdles. “When I had planned to establish a cancer hospital, the doctors said it was an impossible task, but now 75 percent of cancer patients in Pakistan receive treatment from Shaukat Khanum,” Imran added.
He also criticised Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif saying that unlike his projects, “Shehbaz’s projects are only seen in advertisements.”
“Shehbaz said he will transform Karachi into New York, he makes such claims wherever he goes, but without practical implementation,” he added.
Continuing his address, the PTI chief said that he wants to create a Pakistan where the poor are provided with opportunities to prosper, while he also said that the condition of hospitals in KP has improved a great deal and that the policing system in the province is exemplary.
